The Oak Lawn Gems girls’ travel softball program offers part-time and full-time travel to girls at the levels of 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, and 16U. The Oak Lawn Gems offers softball for players who are looking to play at the next level beyond house league. It allows girls to play softball year-round on full-time teams.

Girls who play for the Oak Lawn Gems are looking to continue to play softball in junior high school, high school, and beyond. Our managers and coaches work together to develop the girls’ softball skills and knowledge and teach them how to have a positive attitude and work ethic.

Tryouts are typically held in late July and early August. Team formation occurs quickly after and practices begin in late August/early September.

During the fall, teams will practice together and may play in a league, tournament/round robin, or scrimmage games. Spring season begins in January with indoor practices and then once the weather breaks, outdoor practices and games. Most full-time teams will play in between 7-10 tournaments in addition to pick up games. Part-time teams will play in 3-5 tournaments in addition to pick up games. All part-time players are also required to play within our house league. All travel softball players must only play for the Oak Lawn Gems during the season in which they are on our teams.
