Special Event at Kolb on June 16 -- Update

One of OLB's parents was Juan Bucio, a 15-year veteran of the Chicago Fire Department and a member of the Air Sea Rescue Unit for over a decade.  Mr. Bucio, sadly, lost his life during a rescue attempt in the Chicago River on May 28.

Members of the CFD were at Kolb Field on June 16 to attend and support the Bucio boys at their last baseball games of the season, starting at 11:00.  In-between games OLB officials presented a check to the Bucio family for funds collected from a GoFundMe page set up in Juan Bucio's name.  Many people showed up to support the Bucio family at the games.

--UPDATE

Dear Oak Lawn Baseball Community,
I want to express my extreme gratitude for your thoughts, prayers, comfort, and generosity during this difficult time. Joshua, Jacob, and I have found comfort in coming to baseball. It has been one of the few normal things they get to do during a very challenging time.
Everything from the red ribbons on their baseball hats to the ribbons on the trees at Kolb to the moment of silence for Juan to the generous check has reminded us of the good that is our community. Thank you for your strength while we go through this heartbreaking time. We feel the support and it has helped us tremendously. Thank you for your kindness.
