To all prospective Oak Lawn GEMS players for the 2016 season,
The Oak Lawn GEMS will be offering full time travel softball for its 10U and up teams. Full time travel simply means the 10U and up teams will not play in a house league and will only play on their GEMS team from August 2015 through July 2016.
Evaluation dates for the full time travel teams are listed below. There are two sessions listed per age group, however you should only attend ONE session per age group. If you have any questions are are unable to make either session for your age group, please contact Bill Murphy (Girls President) at firstname.lastname@example.org
Our goal is to form 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, 14U and 16U full time gravel GEMS teams. A player's "softball age" is determined by her age on December 31, 2015. A player age 10 or younger on December is eligible to try out for the 10U GEMS team. Prospective 11U and 12U players are to tryout during the 12U slot. Prospective 13u and 14U players are to tryout during the 14U slot.
Players whose age will be 10 or under on December 31, 2015 are eligible to tryout for the 10U GEMS team. Players need to be dressed in proper softball attire (t-shirt, pants and cleats) and will need to bring their own equipment as well as something to drink. Catchers that have their own catcher's gear should bring it. GEMS players from prior seasons are NOT to wear any GEMS t-shirts, jerseys, etc.
Tryouts for the 10U and up full time travel teams will be held at SAC-1 and SAC-3 on August 5 and 9 as shown in the table below.
