The Oak Lawn Lightning baseball program offers competitive baseball for boys ages 8U-14U. Our competitive baseball program runs from August 1st – July 31st. Tryouts are held in July, with teams being formed by August 1st. Lightning teams have the opportunity to play games, practice and/or workout all year.
The Lightning baseball program was developed to prepare our players to continue their baseball careers beyond 14U, into high school and college. Our coaching staff work
to develop our players’ skills, baseball IQ, and teach them how to be a positive role model both on and off the field.
During the fall, teams will practice together and may play in a league, tournament/round robin, or scrimmage games. Spring season begins in January with indoor practices
and then once the weather breaks, outdoor practices and games. Most full-time teams will play in between 6-10 tournaments in addition to pick up games. Some full-time travel teams also elect to play
in a league, such as WSBL. Part-time teams will play around 3 tournaments in addition to pick up games. All part-time players are also required to play within our house league. Oak Lawn Lightning
travel players may only be rostered on a full-time status with our club.
